About Pilates
The Pilates Method of exercise is the ultimate mind-body technique for
those who want to increase their strength, flexibility and mobility.
Pilates is designed to improve the way we move and develops an
awareness of correct posture and breath. Practicing Pilates results in
a toned and aligned physique.
It is successful in relieving stress as well as preventing injury and
improving performance in other sports and fitness arenas…it
is intelligent exercise that changes lives through re-educating our
bodies and its fun too!
What do I need to do Pilates?
Pilates is taught at The Hidden Space on the mat. Mats and some small
equipment are provided so all you need to bring is yourself and some
water if desired! Pilates is taught barefoot or in socks and clothing
should be comfortable and allow you to move freely.
Can anyone do Pilates?
Pilates is suitable for all ages and varied levels of fitness. If you
suffer from an injury or pain you should inform your teacher prior to
beginning your training and they will discuss with you whether a 'group
class' is appropriate.
Now you know what Pilates is about we look forward to welcoming you
into our classes! Please refer to Teacher Biographies and Class
