Bethia Hope-Rollins is an experienced Studio & Matwork Pilates Instructor. Having trained and certified with three Pilates schools to date Bethia is able to use an array of teaching techniques in order to help participants achieve their goals. In her spare time Bethia is also a mentor to Pilates' teachers in training and assists on 'Pilates Teacher Training Courses'.
During Bethia's Classes you are taught the principles of Pilates and learn to develop your body awareness. Practising Pilates improves your alignment, core-strength, balance and coordination, creating efficient and fluid movement patterns.
Bethia teaches two classes at the Hidden Space
Intermediate Level Matwork
This class is designed for those with some previous experience in Pilates. With careful attention to correct positioning and the use of modifications where appropriate, Bethia takes you through the intermediate level movements, challenging your physical strength and body awareness, and increasing your flexibility and mobility.
This class will leave you feeling taller, stronger and energised!
Postnatal Pilates
Having taught Pilates for over 6 years Bethia has a wealth of experience in training women both during and after their pregnancy. It is however, her own experience of using Pilates to regain her postural strength post pregnancy, that has lead her to want to help others to benefit from the Pilates technique.
During pregnancy and childbirth the female body is put through considerable strain. Not only is the Pilates technique very effective in restoring abdominal and core strength post pregnancy, it is also successful in postural re-alignment.
Through the mobilisation of joints and release of muscles under strain Pilates ultimately helps mothers to cope better physically with everyday tasks such as breast-feeding and carrying.
This class contains elements of both relaxation and physical challenge and will leave you feeling recharged and ready to return to your family energised instead of exhausted!
When is it safe to start exercising after childbirth? It is generally safe and appropriate to begin exercising after your 'six-week GP check' and ten weeks post Caesarean Section. Either way you need to have received the 'all clear' from your doctor before attending this
class. If you have any specific questions feel free to telephone Bethia directly for advice.
I had my children several years ago could I still benefit from this class? Yes! It's never too late to start restoring your strength! And when you've mastered the basics and are feeling strong again there's always Bethia's Intermediate class to attend.
This class would also be beneficial to people suffering from postural strains such as low backache and shoulder tension.
Pricing: £64 for 8-week course or £10 to Drop-In
